Wireless Campus
IBEC's technology can be used to create wireless campuses by use of wireless routers mounted with the IBEC BPL on the power lines. Being fully IEEE 802.11-compatible, IBEC products transmit only in permissible frequencies, allowing for the creation of a wireless campus using only the power line network and wireless access points.
In its Cullman, Alabama pilot program, IBEC has in operation a system of password-protected wireless routers that allow authorized parties to access the Internet from a wireless network card in their laptops while in their automobiles, outdoors, or anywhere within the wireless campus.
Wireless campuses are becoming quite popular among universities and corporations, and in areas of heavy business concentration. IBEC products thus allow the creation of wireless campuses in areas where conventional broadband services do not exist.
