Video Surveillance
IBEC's key differentiator is providing video security and surveillance quickly and cost effectively at your home, business, or any location having electric service, without the limitations imposed by telephone or cable networks, by using the ubiquitous electric infrastructure. IP (Internet Protocol) Surveillance cameras can be conveniently mounted around your home or business, providing you real time imagery of events happening on your property. IBEC's BPL network allows IP cameras to be mounted on existing power poles or electrical distribution transformers. The IP cameras are connected to the electric network, taking full cost advantage of the existing infrastructure, and allowing for real-time or recorded monitoring of any remote location from any other location in the world having an Internet connection. Since the system is based on Internet protocols, it capitalizes on the efficiencies, widespread enhancements, and universal capabilities of Internet product standardization.
In addition to providing live video surveillance, IBEC's BPL security system is set to provide an interface to remotely monitor and receive automatic alerts regarding many key parameters, such as smoke, fire, temperature, and radiation, as well as providing tamper resistance and prevention. These additional sensors are simply mounted alongside the surveillance camera at the remote site, and the pertinent parameters are relayed over the power lines back to a monitoring station along with the video signals. Another key advantage for Homeland Security requirements is that the IBEC system connects directly to the power lines and delivers unobtrusive, stealth surveillance that can not be easily disabled or disconnected without incurring the dangers inherent within the power network. This makes IBEC's product the most tamper-proof and economically attractive remote surveillance system available today.
IBEC's broadband-over-powerline surveillance and security system is being currently demonstrated at our Virginia deployment. To view the live video being sent over the power lines please visit: www.ibec.net/cameras.
IBEC foresees potential standardization by electric utilities and government organizations on IBEC's BPL security and surveillance applications in anticipation of future governmental and regulatory requirements. This will assist in ensuring the protection of critical infrastructures such as electrical, water, and gas systems, oil and gas fields, refineries as well as remote government, defense and other critical installations.
