Company Background
Headquartered in Huntsville, AL, International Broadband Electric Communications, Inc., (IBEC) was formed in 2003 to pursue broadband-over-powerline products and services. In 2003 IBEC acquired Cybrtyme, Inc., an established full-service ISP founded in 1995, thus allowing IBEC to offer its Landlord Model complete turn-key BPL solution to electric utilities as well as other full-service ISP solutions.
With the continued worldwide growth of BPL and SmartGrid applications IBEC is in continuous joint development discussions with major equipment suppliers to the electric power industry regarding integrating BPL capabilities directly into utility products. As the IBEC BPL system becomes more widely available nationwide and internationally this will not only make the BPL deployments faster and easier but will allow for utilities to build a SmartGrid as the BPL system is deployed.; In the future, IBEC will offer utilities an AMR/AMI solution, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for load balancing, monitoring and controlling all power circuits.; Later this system will allow any Internet-enabled device in the home or business to be controlled remotely via the power lines.;
IBEC leverages its rich history in providing ISP services to utilities, their customers, and a host of others with BPL products that provide the lowest-cost-to-deploy-and-operate solution in the industry.; IBEC's economical, turn-key systems are optimized for either rural or urban underserved markets to ensure that a utility can serve even its most remote customers efficiently and with the highest data rates possible.; IBEC – Empowering the World's Broadband®.
