IBEC develops BPL products and services for broadband Internet access, intelligent networking, and remote surveillance and security using the electric power distribution lines. Utilizing IBEC's BPL system, electric power utilities have the ability to provide two-way, multi-megabit, Internet Protocol (IP)-based data, voice and video services to their consumers, both urban and rural. Even today, many consumers, (estimated at 61% of the total of U.S. households) are beyond the boundaries of cable, DSL, and other high-speed Internet access services. Providing high-speed broadband Internet access directly over the existing power lines is the solution of choice for these underserved consumers.

IBEC is the only BPL provider concentrating on rural and underserved markets in America. IBEC's mission is to become the premier supplier of cutting-edge products and services for the growing BPL market. Its vision is to close the "Digital Divide" that exists between well-served and under-served consumers

IBEC offers the following options to electric utilities and system integrators that are looking for a BPL solution:

Landlord Model: Little or no cost for the utility. No capital outlay required for utilities that have as few as 5 members per line mile. IBEC provides a full turn-key solution including equipment, deployment assistance, remote equipment management and 24/7/365 Customer Service. The utility installs the equipment under our direction, markets the services to their consumers, and bills the customers for their service on their monthly electric bill. There is a revenue sharing component to this model that allows the utility to recoup its installation costs and create a revenue stream in a very short time period.

Project Management: IBEC will sell equipment and manage the deployment for those utilities that wish to own, operate, maintain and service their own BPL network.

BPL Equipment Sales: IBEC has developed and has manufactured its own BPL equipment. This equipment works equally well in the rural (low density) and the urban (high density) markets. Please see the Products section for more information.
